Whether its heavy brows or lashings of liquid liner, this seasons is all about The Eyes. From a glamorous sixties black liquid liner to a Punk flicked tick, eyeliner is this season’s makeup detail to master. Eyelash Extensions are also being flaunted and fluttered about and what better way to set off lashes than a big black flick of eyeliner?
LATEST TREND – Tight Lining!
What is tight-lining? Its where you take your pencil liner and apply to the upper and under rims of your eye, also called the waterline. This creates a super defined and edgy look that’s ever so popular at the moment!
Types of liner you can create different looks with….
Liquid Eye Liner – A must have in your beauty bag, liquid eyeliner defines eyes with an exotic and sophisticated edge. Think Sophia Loren Pin-Up Girl style. Liquid Eyeliners have a wand in the tube for easy application – practice makes perfect, you will only get better by trying.
Crème Liner – Slightly harder compared to a liquid liner that comes compact with a wand, but all the more satisfying to apply with a professional liner brush where you can control the density and thickness of your line. Crème liners work best when mixed with water (unless it is an oil-based formula).
Pencil/Kohl Liner – For a soft smoky subtle look, pencils are great for smudging and easy to control for first timers. Kohl pencils are oil-based which means they smudge more, particularly on oil-combination skin types. To avoid a smudged liner, set the pencil with a similar coloured eye shadow applied with a liner brush.
Eye Shadow – Eye shadows can be used as eyeliner too! Apply with a liner brush known to makeup gurus as the ‘Brow/Angle Brush’ for a perfect precise line. Eye shadows give you the option of colour choice!
For makeup that stands out, make your mark with defined eyes. Keep your eyes the focus and finish your look off with a nude or matte brown lipstick and blush.
