The Wrap Dress

wrapweb

Nearly 40 years ago, (back in 1976) Diane von Furstenberg, an American fashion designer created her best-selling jersey wraparound dress (Check out www.dvf.com/wrap40/).  This particular dress has gone on to become a synonymous staple garment in her collection today and a dress that has obviously stood the test of time, with its reinvention year after year.

So, why do women like this dress so much?  You can quite literally throw the dress into the washing machine and pull it back out without the need for it to be ironed I have been told.  Being able to loosen the ties around the waist provides extra comfort and lastly, it has such a flattering style on the body.  With long sleeves, the fitted top and the wrap skirt – anything you want covered up can be.

Some of you will have hanging in your wardrobe, any one of the iconic Chameleon dresses cleverly designed by Annah Stretton.  If you have, you will understand exactly what I mean about the benefits of owning a wrap style dress.  The clever twist with these dresses of course is their ability to take on a personality of their own, as you turn them inside out, and they transform from one look to another.

Dressing is made so easy with the Wrap.  It tends to suit all ages, and size is not important.  Aren’t we all looking for comfort, style and practicality these days, with little fuss?  This dress does it all for you.

Hanging right next to your LBD (little Black Dress) surely should be a LWD (little Wrap Dress).

That’s a Wrap.
