Tania Martin

Tania will be discussing workplace drug and alcohol testing, Statistics of drug testing conducted by NZDDA within the Hawke’s Bay region, methamphetamine (‘P’) and laboratories and synthetic cannabis, readily available in New Zealand and rapidly becoming an international problem.

Tania is the General Manager and Co-Director of The New Zealand Drug Detection Agency (NZDDA) Hawke’s Bay and Taupo branches, following a 22 year career with the New Zealand Police, predominantly in the South Auckland and Auckland Metropolitan Crime areas. The last ten years of her career were as a detective attached to the Auckland Drug and Organised Crime Squads, involved in investigations into the importation, manufacture and distribution of controlled drugs.

Tania was also a member of the National Clandestine Laboratory Response Team (CLANLAB).

After resigning from the New Zealand Police in 2008 Tania commenced the NZDDA Taupo branch in February 2009, later joining the Taupo Her Business Network. In 2010 Tania entered the ‘Taupo Her Business’ awards and won the ‘Sustainability’ category. Later that year she was a finalist in the ‘Best New Business’ category of the her Businesswoman of the Year Awards. In December 2010, Tania was joined in business by her partner Cam and moved to the Hawke’s Bay to take over the Hawke’s Bay branch of NZDDA. Tania is a finalist in the SME category of the 2011 her Businesswoman of the Year Awards.
