There's no doubt that television entertainment entrepreneur Julie Christie is a hard act to beat.

There’s no doubt that television entertainment entrepreneur Julie Christie is a hard act to beat. She has made a string of successful hit shows including Treasure Island, Mitre 10 DIY Home Rescue, and My House My Castle, won various awards and made millions. But for the mother-of-two, success hasn’t come easily.

It’s 4:37pm and Julie Christie is held up. I have been sitting in the waiting room pretending to read a TIME magazine for almost an hour. I’m not sure whether to leave and my nerve is failing. Her shows playing on an endless loop on the giant flat-screen TV in the reception foyer reassure me this is Christie’s domain... How it all started

In January 2002 I spotted an advert in the local rag for the pre-season muster at the Takapuna Soccer Club. I love soccer and I have always wanted to play, however... Please click "Read Entire Paula Kearns Article" above to continue reading.

Early Detection of Breast Cancer

cancer_cube.gifEach year in New Zealand approximately 2400 women are diagnosed with breast cancer – that’s more than 45 women every week. However, if breast cancer is detected early, there is a greater chance of survival.

When breast cancer is detected early, the cancer is usually small and less likely to have spread to other parts of the body. As a result, these cancers are able to be removed and treated with less invasive procedures. In order to ensure the early detection of breast cancer, The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation recommends yearly screening mammograms for women between the ages of 40 and 49 and every two years from the age of 50 onwards. The Foundation also recommends all women stay breast-aware... Please click "Read Entire Breast Cancer Article" above to continue reading.
