Dancer

9-5 You will find me … After dropping the kids off at school and day care I’m teaching dance, public speaking and growing my business. Then back to pick up kids to take them to ballet, rugby or whatever else they have on. They have a better social life than I do.

After 5 you will find me … Cooking for my family, chasing my two children and trying to get them into bed, then off to dance teaching, demonstrations or speaking at an event.

Why I like living in Auckland … It’s warmer than Christchurch, where we lived before; more people, a faster pace of life and I love it.

I can’t do without … Love. Try as we may, it’s what we all want. Coffee comes in a close second and my wife’s booty, ha ha!

Celebrate … Life! Celebrate who you are and who you want to be.

Underrated … Child Youth and Family social workers. They do a really important job and deal with things every day that people generally don’t want to know about. They are under appreciated, underpaid and over abused! Our children need them.

My favourite thing/s … My children, Ethan (6) and Grace (4) – always fun, mostly honest, sometimes naughty and occasionally they sleep.

Last Movie/CD/Book … I’ll go with favourites: Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium (DVD), iTunes for music and latest book read is The E-Myth Revisited.

Next Holiday … Hopefully soon! I don’t care where, as long as I’m there. Sun, sand and sleep.

Guilty pleasure … Coffee. It rules my day trying to get my next soy latte. I think I’m gonna have to join a support group or get a coffee sponsor.

Best Advice … Just be you – that’s enough.

Woman you admire most … My wife and mother of my children, Jaimee. She’s my best friend. She has given me so much and is not afraid to be herself. I love her very much.

Your mentor … I don’t really have one. I think there is a point where you need to take responsibility for your own growth and development.

Best health tip … Laugh, play and move.

Favourite saying … Always look on the bright side of life (adding a whistle when appropriate).

Best life balance tip … Take time to stop and just be in the moment. When you’re always thinking about what you haven’t done or what you need to do you miss the present.

Worst moment … To be honest, there has been a few but it is what you do with it that counts.

What’s next …? My dream is to host and present on television. To continue with my work as an MC and public speaker and to be the best version of myself I can be.
