Budget Beauty Tips from the Pros
Makeup and skin care can be the best purchase during a recession. In WWII lipstick sales actually skyrocketed and went down in history as what is now called ‘The Lipstick Effect’. Beauty products are small, inexpensive ways of making you feel and look better. Nevertheless, we all need ways to cut down on costs during hardships so here are some beauty budget tips:
1) Cotton wool or cotton balls soak up liquids like toner, so dampen with water first. Squeeze out the excess, then use as usual.
2) Look out for the ‘Two for the price of one’ special offers on your favourite products. Perhaps split the savings with a friend.
3) Turn ordinary mascara into the lash-lengthening variety by dusting eyelashes with a little translucent powder first.
4) Buy cheap but effective body moisturisers instead of expensive fragranced ones. Then save your money to splash out on your favourite perfume.
5) Put your lip and eye pencils in the refrigerator before sharpening them. This means they’re less likely to break – and you won’t waste so much.
6) Check out the model nights at your local hairdresser’s when trainee hair dressers will style your hair for a fraction of the normal cost.
